The complete guide to luxury home interior design in Bangalore
Most guides stop at a price per square foot. This one goes further down the quote, to the plywood grade, the hardware brand, who manufactures the furniture, and the one thing a warranty has to be attached to before it counts.
A search for luxury home interior design in Bangalore usually ends at a price per square foot, and that number tells you very little about what you are buying. Two quotes at the same figure can hide different plywood grades, different hardware and a warranty that means two different things. The answers sit further down the document, in the specification, which is also where the money actually goes.
This is the version to read before you meet anyone: what the word should mean when a Bangalore firm uses it, what to ask, and what a warranty has to be attached to before it counts.
01 What luxury should mean once you take the price out of it
Money buys better materials. On its own it does not buy a better home. The most expensive interior in a Bangalore apartment can still hand you wardrobes that do not fit what you own, and a kitchen nobody wants to cook in on a weeknight. An interior worth the money still works in year five.
There is a test you can run on any drawing you are shown. Ask what happens to it with use. Which drawer takes the pressure cooker. What sits behind the television once the cabling is in. Where fourteen pairs of shoes go at the front door. A firm that has thought past the render answers without pausing.
02 The questions worth asking before you sign anything
A first meeting tells you more than a portfolio does, if you arrive with the right list. Ask who designs your home and whether that person stays on it through handover. Ask what you will see before money goes into production, because a floor plan is a promise on paper and a render of your own rooms is something you can judge. Ask whether the plywood is branded and certified, and at what grade. Ask which hardware brand runs the drawers and hinges, the part which fails first and is most easily substituted quietly. Ask what the warranty covers and for how long. Then ask who manufactures the furniture, the firm itself or a subcontracted vendor, because that decides the value of the previous answer. Our note on choosing a luxury interior designer in Bangalore takes the list further.
Some answers should end the meeting. A single lump sum with no room-by-room or material-by-material break-up. Renders that are stock imagery rather than your own floor plan. Reluctance to put a plywood grade or a hardware brand in writing. Any discount that expires on a date, on a home you intend to live in for a decade.
A warranty is only as strong as the manufacturer standing behind it
A written guarantee is a claim about who will be accountable in year seven. When design and production sit inside one company there is a single party to hold to it, and a single place where carcass finish, edge banding and shutter alignment are controlled. Hand production to third-party carpenters and the paper survives while the accountability moves. Furdo builds in its own manufacturing facility.

03 The materials worth naming in writing
“Premium finish” means nothing until a name is attached to it. A specification you can hold someone to names the plywood by grade, moisture resistant board through the dry areas and boiling water proof grade wherever water reaches, which means the kitchen, the utility and the bathrooms. It names the hardware brand, the false ceiling board, the glass and the mirror. And it calls for water based, low-VOC finishes over solvent heavy ones.
That kitchen gets things right that no moodboard shows. The counter runs unbroken from sink to hob, so a hot pan has somewhere to land. The strip light sits under the wall units and washes the work surface instead of the cook’s back. One correction to carry into your own kitchen: engineered quartz is not heat proof. Its resin binder begins to fail around 150C. Sintered stone and porcelain are the surfaces that genuinely take heat, and granite is forgiving.
Bedrooms are decided by lighting layers and by where storage is allowed to eat the floor. Here the mirror carries its own halo, a slim shelf above it holds three downlights, and a pendant drops beside it, so a face is lit from more than one direction. The seat sits inside the window bay, which is depth the room was not using. Our room-by-room planning guide takes each space in turn.
The front door is where storage plans usually fail, and where a good one is easiest to check. Volume goes behind closed shutters, a single lit column carries what you want to see, and the shoes in daily rotation get an open cubby at floor level so nobody opens a door with their hands full.

Book Consultation04 What to check in your own home
- Read the quote as a specification. Every line should carry a material, a grade or a brand. If the quote cannot tell you what board is going into your kitchen, nothing later will.
- Open a drawer in a finished project. Push it shut with one finger and listen. Then look at the edge banding on the inside face, where no camera goes.
- Count what you own before you size the storage. Shoes, suitcases, the vacuum, the festival crockery. Storage drawn from a moodboard runs short by roughly a third.
- Find the service points on the drawing. Gas line, water inlet, shutoff valve, distribution board, the socket behind the fridge. Anything sealed behind fixed joinery gets opened with a chisel later.
- Stand in the flat at four in the afternoon in July. Bangalore loses months of the year to overcast sky and tree canopy. Sign off the lighting plan in that light, not in a showroom.
A note on Vastu
Many buyers in Bangalore weigh Vastu when planning interiors, and it is worth treating as accumulated thinking about how people live well at home. Much of it lands where careful planning lands anyway: entrances and light kept open, thresholds clear so circulation works. In a completed apartment the orientation is fixed, so what design controls is placement and flow. The room-by-room Vastu guide picks up the rest of the house.
05 How Furdo plans this
Design starts with how the household uses each room, which settles storage volumes and circulation before a finish is chosen. Visualize puts your own rooms in front of you as high-definition, photoreal 3D renders of two rooms before you commit, so proportion and light levels are agreed while they are still drawings. Build happens in our in-house manufacturing facility on branded certified plywood with Hettich hardware, carried by a 10-year warranty on the woodwork, across 4,500 homes delivered. Our Bangalore planning guide covers the same ground at whole-home scale.
06 Frequently asked questions
How much does luxury interior design cost in Bangalore?
It moves with home size, scope and material specification, and there is no fixed ceiling. Ask for an itemised bill of materials rather than one figure, so you can compare two quotes line for line instead of number for number.
How long does a luxury interior project take in Bangalore?
It depends on scope, site readiness and how many approvals sit between design and production. Ask for a written schedule with named milestones and for what happens to it when a selection changes late.
What should a luxury interior warranty cover?
The woodwork the firm builds, in writing, with a stated term and a named party to enforce it against. A warranty tied to in-house manufacturing is enforceable in a way one resting on a subcontracted carpenter is not. Furdo’s runs 10 years on the woodwork.
Do I need to follow Vastu in my interior design?
It is a choice rather than a requirement, and worth discussing rather than skipping. Much of it overlaps with careful planning anyway. In a completed apartment the orientation is fixed, so the conversation is about placement and circulation.
How is a luxury interior firm different from a modular vendor?
Scope and accountability. A vendor sells a category of furniture from a catalogue. A firm plans the whole home, manufactures it, and stands behind it with a warranty it can enforce itself.
